Based in Asia. Filming the World.
Yachtsmen and women travel thousands of miles for the privilege of crewing the oldest and the most beautiful and also the most modern sailboats in the world.
This project is the final of four personal films commissioned by Roy E. Disney as a special project to document the racing success of his sailing yacht Pyewacket, a highly successful, maxi-yacht with a revolutionary canting keel which makes it currently one of the fastest monohulls in the world.
Working with producer Leslie DeMeuse of Channel Sea Television and legendary sailing photographer, Sharon Green of Ultimate Sailing, L'Image Cinematography was responsible for making two of these four films on location in Sardinia and San Tropez. Over a ten day shooting period, the company shot specialist video material from French helicopters supplied by Heli Securite and also from the Pyewacket Protector tender.
During the six days of racing, different classes of sailing yachts competed on different offshore and onshore courses, providing spectactular imagery for professional photographers and spectators alike.
