CSTV Sailing Cinematographer

Channel Sea Television has been producing television of the sport of yacht racing for over two decades. Our programmes and footage has been broadcast on all of the worlds major television networks.

Over the years, we have come to know the talents and capabilities of laurie K. Gilbert, cinematographer.

Mr Gilbert is one of only an handful of cameramen world wide that specialise in the filming of yacht racing. yacht racing is one of the most difficult sports for a cameraman to capture, as it requires mastering the technique of shooting watchable footage from a moving boat as well as a complete knowledge of the rules of racing.

Due to the difficult, often extreme conditions, that can result in life threatening situations, along with inheirent liabilities involved, it is absolutely imperative that only the most experienced cameramen be hired for this kind of assignment.

Compared to other countries like England, Australia, New Zealand and France, yacht racing is not a major sport for television in the USA. Consequently there is a lack of qualified professional cinematographers covering the sport.

To my knowledge there is no one of similar qualifications to Mr Gilbert available in the United States and we can highly recommend him for the Morning Light Project.
